Matty Staudt began his broadcasting journey at 16 in Keyser, West Virginia. Over his radio career, he served as an on-air host, morning show lead, and Executive Producer at iconic stations like WJFK in Washington DC, WNEW in New York City, Alice Radio (KLLC), and Live 105 (KITS) in San Francisco. In 2007, Matty transitioned into podcasting, becoming Stitcher’s first Director of Content and a pioneer in the field. His voiceover work includes the Pixar film "Cars," where he voiced a radio reporter car named "Matti." Since 2011, Matty has consulted for major clients such as Premier Radio, Cisco, CA Beef Council, and St. Jude's Children’s Hospital, producing branded podcasts, coaching hosts and producers, and developing podcast strategies. He has hosted several podcasts, including the "Access Podcast," featuring interviews with leading podcasters. At The Academy of Art University in San Francisco, Matty launched one of the nation's first university-level podcasting programs in 2012 and continues to teach there while managing the campus radio station, Urban Knights Radio. In 2016, he earned a Master’s in Digital Media from Southern New Hampshire University and also teaches at his alma mater, West Virginia University.
That same year, Matty returned to radio by joining iHeartRadio as the industry’s first Vice President of Podcast Programming. In this role, he created podcast strategies for radio talent and helped launch over 300 podcasts, generating millions of monthly downloads. As VP, he developed original shows, mentored on-air talent, managed social media, and led the overall podcast strategy for iHeartRadio’s programming, now the largest podcast network worldwide.
Currently, Matty is the CEO and Founder of Podle and President of Jam Street Media, a premium podcast company based in Los Angeles. Jam Street Media produces popular shows such as "Appalachia Mysteria," "The Big Swing," and "Deep Cover: The Real Donnie Brasco." He lives in Los Angeles with his wife and their three dogs—Dougal, Mumbles, and Kelly Clarkson—and enjoys beach time, reading historical fiction, and watching too much Netflix.
