Biographie
Trevor Short, Co-founder and CFO, manages legal, financial, and administrative operations for Nu Image, Inc., Millennium Films, and their affiliated companies.
Born in Harare, Zimbabwe, in 1955, Short earned a Bachelor of Law from the University of Rhodesia and an MBA from the University of Cape Town, where he received the Gold Medal. In 1980, he began his career in banking and commerce at Standard Chartered Merchant Bank in Harare as head of Corporate Finance, overseeing takeovers, mergers, and IPOs. In 1984, he joined Hill Samuel Merchant Bank in Johannesburg as head of Corporate Finance, later moving to Investec Bank, where he managed eight IPOs on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange along with numerous mergers and acquisitions.
In 1989, Short transitioned from banking to join Lerner as a shareholder and Chief Executive of Nu Metro Entertainment Group in Johannesburg. He secured financing for Nu Metro's film production and played a key role in expanding its theater chain. In 1991, Lerner and Short used proceeds from the sale of Nu Metro Entertainment Group to establish a new studio in California. Nu Image, Inc. was founded in Los Angeles in 1992.
Short’s expertise in finance, law, investments, tax legislation, subsidies, and both international and domestic banking has supported numerous foreign co-productions by the Nu Image group. This includes the development of Nu Boyana Studios in Bulgaria, a full-service production facility frequently utilized by Millennium Films.
Since the company’s inception, Short has served as producer or executive producer on nearly all Nu Image and Millennium Films projects. Recent franchises include the Hitman's Bodyguard series (1 & 2), the "Has Fallen" series (1-3), and The Expendables series (1-3).
