Biographie
Abimael was born on April 3rd in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico. From a young age, he showed a strong interest in the arts. He studied Theater and TV and Radio Production at the University of Puerto Rico. Abimael began his career as a theater and television actor but later transitioned to writing. His television writing credits include "Flores de la Noche," "Amores como todos los demás," "Que Candela de Pueblito," "Un Ángel de Hojalata," "El Regalo," "Los Vecinos," "Solteros Siempre," "Se caen de La Matta," and "La Vida es un Carnaval." He has also written for radio programs such as "La Familia Sin Igual" and "Risas a lo Loco." Additionally, Acosta has directed TV shows like "Primera Llamada" and "Eso no viene na."
In theater, he authored works including "Los Invisibles," "Mamá apaga la plancha," "Hércules," "El Jorobado de Notre Dame," "Quién puede más," "Pedrito," "El regreso del Mesías," and "La Verdadera Historia de Peter Cuchilla," among others. Acosta has also been involved in film, acting and directing "Doña Ana," as well as directing, writing, and producing "Muerte en el Paraíso" and "Jephta."
In 2011, Abimael relocated to Los Angeles to pursue a career as a writer and director in Hollywood. He is currently working on an English-language TV series titled "Wizards" and his new film "Facade." At present, Acosta continues his work as a writer, actor, and director in both Los Angeles and Puerto Rico.
