Pierangeli Llinas
Pierangeli Llinas, an actor, screenwriter, director, and producer, was born in Barranquilla, Colombia. She moved to Bogotá D.C., where she began her acting career. One of her early significant roles was in the production "Vendaval" at age 14.
Licensed by the Colombian Ministry of Education in Performing Arts, she has worked in approximately 24 soap operas, including hits like "Pero Sigo Siendo el Rey," "Candela," and "Dios se lo Pague." She has also appeared in TV series such as "Pandillas Guerra y Paz" (Netflix Latin America) and "El Fiscal," among others with international reach. In Venezuela, she starred in notable productions like "Estefania," "El Despertar," "Molinos de Viento," and "Mabel Valdez." At 15, she began her film career with the Colombia/German film "Respetables Delincuentes," followed by "El Corsario Negro"; Colombia/Italy's "Eroticon"; Colombia/Mexico's "The Return of Django"; Italy's "The King of Salsa"; and "Carmen G" in the United States. Her theater experience began as a child in plays such as "The Story of Puss in Boots" and "Little Red Riding Hood," and later included roles in "Martyr of Calvary" and Mario Vargas Llosa's "Pantaleón y las visitadoras" at Teatro La Carrera in Bogotá D.C.
In the United States, she has participated in television, radio commercials, and voice-over work. Throughout her career, she has earned several awards, including the "Antena Award" at age 14, the 1984 "India Catalina" Award for Best Cast for the soap opera "Pero Sigo Siendo El Rey," the "Latin Art" Award for Actress of the Year in 2009, and the "Big Apple" Award for Excellence in 2009. In 2010, New York State Governor David A. Paterson and the executive chamber recognized her achievements and valuable contributions to the cultural landscape and film industry of NYC. She received the "Ace Award" from the Association of Latin Entertainment Critics of NY in 2011, and in 2012, the "Indie Fest Award" for Leading Actress for "Carmen G." In 2020, she began working as creative director on "The Immigrant," which won Best Creative Director at the International Kansas Film Festival. Pierangeli wrote, produced, directed, and starred in her second feature film, "The Endless Love of Salome" (2021). She directed the film "Cofradia" (2023) and is currently working on the upcoming feature "Love Intrinsic" (2023/2024).
