Biographie
At just three years old, Havana Guppy showed an early passion for being in front of the camera. Her father frequently filmed home movies of his four daughters, but Havana always seemed to capture the spotlight. Inspired by her father, she began to envision a real career in film and television beyond family videos.
At nine, Havana courageously joined a scene study class at the renowned Railtown Actors Studio. Though initially intimidated, she returned at eleven, determined to get the training she believed was essential to becoming a great actress. Now, at 17, she has earned a coveted spot in the adult class led by Kate Twa—an invitation-only opportunity—where she is deeply exploring character development.
Throughout her early years, even when work was scarce, giving up was never an option for Havana. The more she trained, the more focused she became on realizing her dreams. Directors took notice of her dedication, and her roles gradually increased.
Her hard work recently paid off when she was invited to audition for a significant part in Hulu’s new series Shut Eye (2016). Upon reading about the character Drina, Havana immediately connected with this troubled teenage girl navigating life within a gypsy mafia family. After securing the role, she eagerly embraced the chance to portray a character who, beyond seeming like a typical rebellious teen, possesses much deeper layers. Working alongside Angus Sampson, who plays Fonzo, her father, their natural chemistry became evident and grew throughout the season. Additionally, she had the extraordinary opportunity to act with Isabella Rossellini, portraying her grandmother, Rita.
While filming Shut Eye, Havana was called to audition for SyFy Network’s Aftermath (2016). She won the role of Mary, a young girl in a post-apocalyptic world who has joined a religious sect. Expanding her range, Havana also ventured into comedy with a role in an episode of Netflix’s Haters Back Off, starring the popular YouTuber Miranda Sings.
Committed to telling stories that evoke a full spectrum of emotions, Havana strives for authenticity in every part of her life and career.
