Biographie
Roberta Bassin is celebrated for her captivating performances across film, television, and stage, featuring a diverse range of intriguing characters. Her film credits include the classic "Barfly," Oliver Stone's Emmy and Golden Globe-winning TV movie "Indictment: The McMartin Trial," and Clint Eastwood's "J. Edgar." On television, she has appeared in numerous shows such as David E. Kelly's "Presumed Innocent," "Shameless," "How to Get Away With Murder," "Ray Donovan," "Major Crimes," "Criminal Minds," "Grey's Anatomy," "E.R.," "Crossing Jordan," "American Dreams," "Gideon's Crossing," and "The Pretender." As a long-standing member of the Television Academy, she serves on the Performers Group Executive Committee (PGEC).
One of her greatest passions as an actress and writer has been performing her one-woman show, "Amelia Earhart: In Her Own Words." She has also authored a companion book titled "Amelia Earhart, Me and Our Friends: Journaling the Journey...The Amelia Earhart Self Help Book." Through her play and book, she aims to educate, motivate, and inspire others.
Roberta Bassin is a UCLA graduate and holds a California Lifetime Teaching Credential. She volunteered as an instructor for the SAG Conservatory youth program for eleven fulfilling years. An accomplished artist, she works with watercolor and oils. Having danced ballet and jazz since the age of five, dance remains a vital part of her physical life, alongside her talents as a violinist and singer. Married to her prom date at nineteen, Roberta is the proud mother of a son and daughter, both UCLA graduates.
