Biographie
Born into show business in 1947, Greg Finley is the son of the late Los Angeles television and radio personality Larry Finley and cousin to the late writer/producer Rod Serling. Despite being a top Hollywood theatrical voice-over artist with credits in over two thousand five hundred movies and TV programs, at sixty-two, Greg is eager to return to on-camera acting, revisiting the successful on-screen career he had in the early 1980s.
After graduating from Beverly Hills High School, Finley joined the Army, rising to the rank of Captain and serving eighteen months in Vietnam with the Special Forces. Following his military service, he married a widow with four daughters and supported the family by selling automobiles in northern California. Two years later, his son Guy was born. After their marriage ended, he relocated to the Southland to pursue his acting ambitions.
Finley found success as a day player in the late ’70s and early ’80s, and his writing and voice-over career took off in 1981 when he worked as a writer/director on the syndicated animated series "Robotech." He remarried in 1982, and in 1983, as his voice-over career flourished, his son Garrett was born. Over the next twenty-five years, he wrote hundreds of news reports, sports broadcasts, and weather spots for group ADR and performed them in thousands of TV shows and films.
Embarking on a "new" career in his early sixties, Greg says, "I've kept my acting chops strong working on the ADR/looping stage and by participating in community theater over the years." A former board member and President of his local community theater, still happily married to his wife Patti after twenty-seven years, close to all his children, and actively working as a voice-over actor, Greg Finley is now acting and directing on stage, eagerly awaiting the moment he hears the words he rarely encounters on an ADR stage: "Roll camera, marker, speed, and action!
