Biographie
Born in Perpignan, southern France, Patrick Taulere grew up in Le Perthus, a village on the France-Spain border. He pursued higher education at La Sorbonne and Orsay universities in Paris. At 20, Taulere relocated to Hollywood to study film, graduating with honors from Art Center College in Pasadena. He began his directing career at ABC and became a U.S. citizen in 1990.
An award-winning director with accolades including the Emmy, Aurora, Telly, and Cine Golden Eagle, Taulere launched his Hollywood career in 1982 as a director, producer, and writer for television, film, and advertising.
He has directed or produced many prime-time series, pilots, and specials for major studios, including Paramount's "Sightings," Universal's "Arrest & Trial," Fox's "Scariest Places on Earth," and MGM's "Scandals Hollywood Style."
For television networks, Taulere has helmed numerous prime-time series and specials such as CBS's "Unsolved Mysteries," NBC's "Name Your Adventure," and ABC's "Signs of Fear."
On cable networks, he has directed or produced prime-time docudramas like The History Channel’s "Warrior Queen Boudica," "The Last Mission," "The Battle of Tripoli," "The Plot to Kill Nixon," and "Troy." He also worked on series including CMT’s "Angels Among Us," Discovery Channel’s "Reasonable Doubt," Lifetime’s "Beyond Chance" and "What Should You Do?," PAX’s "It's a Miracle," TBS’s "The Movie Break," and TLC’s "Critical Condition."
As executive producer and director, Taulere oversaw episodes of TruTV’s "The Investigators" and "Dominick Dunne's Power, Privilege & Justice," produced by his company Art 7 Films (formerly Meteorite Films).
His directing portfolio also includes national and international commercials, music videos, corporate films, and second unit directing for the major motion picture "End of The Line."
Patrick recently directed two advertising campaigns produced by Art 7 Films.
He has been a member of the Directors Guild of America since 1987, as well as SACD (the French Directors & Writers Society) and The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
