Kevin Coupe is a writer specializing in creating unique portraits of "Main Street"-type businesses in the U.S. and around the world, focusing on the unique dynamic that exists between retailers, manufacturers and consumers. Working in print, video and online, Kevin captures the special relationship between shopkeeper and shopper, especially in a technological society in which the rules and roles are constantly changing. In addition to currently writing for a number of media outlets, Kevin also operates his own independent web content/video production/freelance writing/marketing consulting company, Coupe Communications. In charge of all editorial content for IdeaBeat.com, Kevin was responsible for all the editorial content on a web site designed to create a virtual community for retailers and manufacturers, focusing on what he called "big ideas for thought leaders." Kevin covered breaking news and events, wrote opinion columns, delivered radio commentaries and wrote and produced online video presentations -- together accounting for more than a quarter-million words in an average year.
Formerly Editorial Director of Retail Insights, Kevin coordinated all programming and served as Producer/Writer/On-Camera Reporter for an internationally distributed, video magazine-style business program.
