Biographie
Matt, a West Point graduate and Desert Storm veteran, has been a professional actor since 1995 and is recognized as one of the most versatile talents in film and television.
A former colonel, he dedicated over 27 years to the Army as a Military Police and Russia Eurasia Foreign Area Officer, bringing extensive military, diplomatic, and intelligence expertise, along with fluency in Russian.
Matt's service includes roles with NATO and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe across the Former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe. He was the Army Attaché in Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan, as well as the Chief of the Office of Defense Cooperation in Armenia and Moldova. Additionally, he acted as a military advisor to the OSCE in Austria and Moldova, and in Vienna, he monitored Russian activities within the Joint Consultative Group and the Forum for Security Cooperation.
While based in Chisinau, Moldova, Matt made daily trips to the breakaway region of Transnistria to observe political, economic, and military developments, supporting efforts toward reconciliation and integration with Moldova.
He served as the liaison for the Russian Airborne Brigade to the Stabilization Forces Commander in Bosnia, collaborating with peacekeeping troops from across Europe.
Matt possesses significant experience in nuclear and conventional arms control, having worked as an inspector and monitor for the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty and the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty in Russia. He is also well acquainted with the Conventional Armed Forces in Europe Treaty, the Dayton Accords, and the Vienna Document. At the Joint Staff J2, he provided assessments on nuclear weapons developments and proliferation directly to the G2, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and the Secretary of Defense.
His expertise spans inter-agency policy, intelligence reporting and analysis, political-military analysis, security cooperation, counter-proliferation, and international affairs.
Matt is a father to four children: Ashley, Gregory, Camryn, and Kirsten.
