Biographie
Daniel Spink is an American film and television actor who began his career in the traditional way, performing in school plays and community theater. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was raised in the nearby suburbs of Abington by Marsh Spink, a Philadelphia realtor, and Helyn Spink, a retired elementary school teacher. He attended The William Penn Charter School, founded in 1689 by William Penn in Philadelphia, where he earned letters in soccer, lacrosse, and swimming. In his senior year, Daniel was recognized as the top goalie in the Inter-Academic League of Philadelphia. His first lead role came in the 10th grade in a play written by schoolmate Adam Goldberg, creator of the television series The Goldbergs (2013–present).
Daniel completed both a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, graduating in 2000. It was at Bucknell that he discovered his passion for acting, starring in university productions such as The Ferriswheel, Snakebit, Spittin' Image, Private Wars, and as Simon Gascoyne in Tom Stoppard's The Real Inspector Hound. During college summers, he spent time in Los Angeles interning with casting directors Sheila Jaffe and Mary Vernieu to gain insight into the casting process behind the scenes.
Daniel launched his professional acting career with the role of "Guy With Monkey" in the hit comedy American Pie (1999), a character he reprised throughout the franchise. His television credits include a role as the psychopath Tyler Pollard on ER (1994), and he has appeared in major studio films such as The Butterfly Effect (2004) and Before We Go (2015), where he starred opposite his close friend Chris Evans. Additionally, he is known for creating viral comedy videos online, including Don't Hassel The Hoff (2009) and The Carlton Dance (2012).
Daniel has two older brothers in the entertainment industry: Brian Spink II, a successful manager of writers and directors at Realm Lit, and J.C. Spink, a producer at Benderspink known for hits like The Hangover (2009) and We're The Millers (2014). In 2016, Daniel married his longtime partner, Holly, and the couple is currently enjoying their own real-life romantic comedy. His hobbies include surfing, golf, riding vintage motorcycles, horseback riding, snowboarding, weightlifting, and traveling.
