Biographie
Dodie Brown is an acclaimed American actress from Louisiana. Her passion for performing began in childhood with the Richland Players Theatre Group, where she appeared in musicals such as Oklahoma!, Oliver, and The Music Man. She earned a B.B.A. from Northeast Louisiana University in 1994, where she was also an enthusiastic cheerleader. Her cheerleading and dance skills took her to perform in Tokyo, Japan, followed by professional cheering for the Shreveport Mudbugs hockey team.
In 2006, Dodie was cast by director Frank Darabont in Stephen King's The Mist (2007), acting alongside her then six-year-old daughter, Taylor E. Brown. Since then, Dodie has maintained a steady career, mainly in the Southeast, appearing in a wide range of film and television projects, including the Emmy-winning series American Horror Story (2011).
Dodie leads in the independent feature Sod and Stubble (2025), adapted from the well-known pioneer biography. The story, set in 1873, is narrated by Dodie’s character, Rosa Haag Ise. This role highlights Dodie's versatility, portraying her character from age 17 to 75, demonstrating her capability to anchor a film.
Outside of acting, Dodie treasures time with her family, enjoys traveling, and tends to her garden. She is a certified fitness instructor passionate about promoting wellness and fitness. Additionally, she invests time in coaching actors, casting, and producing.
