Colin Walker is an American actor known for his roles on film, television, and stage. He gained recognition for portraying Special Agent Collington on HBO's acclaimed series Treme and for his role as John Ehrlichman, special advisor to President Nixon, in Lee Daniels' award-winning film The Butler. His diverse career includes television, film, theater, and commercials, with characters ranging from a confident businessman to a vengeful cowboy, a tormented priest, and a rebellious cop—a role he has played numerous times. He has worked alongside acclaimed Oscar, Emmy, and Tony winners such as Melissa Leo, David Morse, John Cusack, Forest Whitaker, and David Simon.
A native of New Orleans, where his family has resided since the 1700s, Colin considers himself fortunate to frequently return home for work. Before relocating to Los Angeles, he studied and acted in New Orleans (well before it became known as "Hollywood South"), Boulder, Boston, and Santa Fe. He earned a bachelor's degree in acting and directing from The College of Santa Fe and continues to pursue further training with notable instructors including Stephen Book, Karen Grassle, Jack Hannibal, and Lily Parker. Proud of his theatrical origins, he co-founded a theater company in the basement of a Santa Fe coffee shop alongside acclaimed playwright Steven Adly Guirgis, who was then an emerging actor.
Colin is married to Cathy Kim Walker, and they have two young children. He built their home, which reflects a touch of New Orleans, in Los Angeles. An avid marathon runner, Ironman triathlete, and passionate surfer, Colin also enjoys cooking Creole meals and is renowned for hosting an annual crawfish boil.
