Biographie
Alexander Doynov was born on January 12, 1955, in Sofia. He graduated from the National Academy for Theatre and Film Art in Sofia, Bulgaria, in 1982, studying under Professor Nikolay Lyutskanov and his assistant Margarita Mladenova. From 1982 to 1984, he worked at the Drama Theatre "Apostle Karamitev" in Dimitrovgrad. Between 1991 and 1994, he served as the Chief Manager of the same theater. From 1998 to 2001, he was the Deputy Chief Manager of the Theatre "Bulgarian Army." Since 2001, he has been an actor in the troupe.
Doynov has performed in over 30 theater roles, including Seba in "Playing the Victim" by the Brothers Presnyakov, directed by Diana Dobreva; Vosmibratov in "Shoot the Artist" by A. N. Ostrovsky, directed by Nicolas Lambrev-Mihajlovski; XX in "Emigrants" by Slawomir Mrozhek, directed by Diana Dobreva; Jerry the Fog in "Swashbuckling Opera" by John Gay, directed by Nicolas Lambrev-Mihajlovski; Bozhidara Jones and Helen in "Traveled Ulysses," directed by Teddy Moskov; Percy Rendell in "Last Order" by Priestley, directed by Nadia Assenova; Styopa in "The Fourth Sister," directed by Krikor Azaryan; Dogberry in "Much Ado About Nothing," directed by Krassimir Spasov; Ajax in "War and Fornication," directed by Krikor Azaryan; Mace in "Powder Keg," directed by Krikor Azaryan; Beqo in "Dirty Words," directed by Svetoslav Ovtcharov; Cyrano in "Rustam," directed by Svetoslav Ovtcharov; Winnie in "Zinc Century," directed by Georgi Djulgerov; all roles in "Sex, Drugs, Rock and Roll," directed by Ivaylo Hristov; Mad in "Accidental Death...," directed by Ivaylo Hristov; and Johnsen in "The Fall of Icarus," directed by Ivan Dobchev.
He has also appeared in more than 20 film roles.
