Biographie
After telling his elementary school teacher he'd never perform, not even if she paid him, Ido Gal has spent the rest of his life proving himself spectacularly wrong.
An Israeli-American immigrant, Ido moved to the U.S. at age four and first discovered the power of storytelling in a fourth-grade production of the Scottish play, staged on his elementary school playground. It became his way of connecting, adapting, and making sense of a new culture.
Years later, after earning a dual degree in Acting and Economics from the University of Southern California, Ido dove headfirst into the industry, earning his union eligibility right out of school during a summer season with the Kingsmen Shakespeare Company in Thousand Oaks, CA.
His most notable screen credits include the indie Jewish thriller Ivver and One Star, directed by award-winning filmmaker A. Laura James. On stage, he's performed Off-Broadway and regionally, with recent credits including Shakespeare with The Curtain, and new plays developed at Columbia Stages, The Chain, and Walk Up Theatre Collective.
As a voiceover artist, Ido has lent his voice to national campaigns for Audible, Amazon, and Cheetos, including a recurring role on Highlights Mystery Theater (Audible Studios).
Across all mediums, he brings boyish charm, neurotic brilliance, and a simmering edge-with an unmistakable Jewish wink.
Equally at home on the producing side, Ido worked across the commercial and non-profit sectors, including co-producing Dead Outlaw (7 Tony Nominations, including Best Musical) and The Sign in Sidney Brustein's Window (2 Tony Nominations) on Broadway, and serving as the Associate Producer of Tectonic Theater Project's Here There Are Blueberries, an acclaimed Pulitzer Prize finalist.
Outside of acting and producing, Ido can be found practicing and playing a rotating lineup of instruments, planning his next European escapade, or cheering ruthlessly for the Golden State Warriors.
