Biographie
Douglas Black Heaton is a composer writing music for TV, film, advertising, and games.
His recent work includes the BAFTA and EMMY award winning "Simon Schama: The Road To Auschwitz", the BBC's "Touring Toolshed" with Sir David Jason, Jay Blades' "Through Time" Series for C5 and "Monty Don's Japanese Gardens" for BBC2, "Hurricane Man" for Discovery Science, "Danny & Mick" for CBBC, "Stories from Backwoods" for RTE/YLE, "Royals Next Door" for RTE, "Momolu and Friends" for YLE, "Angry Birds Slingshot Stories" for YouTube/Netflix and "The Last Wtiness" for Universal Production Music.
Doug has scored more than 300 episodes of Angry Birds animation, including Piggy Tales and Angry Birds Blues, as well as music for the Angry Birds Seasons mobile game and playing guitar in the Angry Birds Movie, accompanying Peter "Tyrion Lannister" Dinklage, Josh "Olaf The Snowman" Gad and Jason "Ted Lasso" Sudeikis singing The Mighty Eagle song.
Other notable TV composition work includes BBC1's Garden Rescue (now in it's 11th season) the Kate Humble fronted Chinese New Year: The Biggest Celebration on Earth for BBC2, Channel 4's Scandimania, from River Cottage's Hugh-Fearnley Whittingstall, BBC2's World's Greatest Food Markets, Dambusters' Greatest Escape and Treasures of the Jade Empire, both for Channel 4's Secret History strand.
Douglas has scored promos for John Lewis, L'Oreal, Nokia and Moomins as well as music for Angry Birds tie ups with Star Wars, Lego, Transformers, and Shakira.
He is also a tutor at Thinkspace Education, an online film scoring school run by Guy Michelmore.
