Many documentaries don’t fail because of lack of access, ambition, or footage. They struggle because the story hasn’t yet found its emotional and narrative shape inside complex material.
I work as a documentary editor who steps into that moment.
My focus is helping projects find clarity, coherence, and direction when the edit is still emerging, sensitive, or under pressure.
Core strengths:
. Shaping narrative in complex, high-stakes material From sensitive single-camera documentaries to large-scale multi-camera series, I help stories locate their emotional logic and structure without flattening nuance.
. Editorial calm under pressure I’m often brought in when timelines are tight, stakeholders are many, or the story needs stabilising. My role is to create focus, momentum, and trust in the room.
. Working with care around contributors and tone Particularly on sensitive factual projects, I’m attentive to ethics, character, and intention, ensuring the story remains truthful while still landing with impact.
. Seeing projects through from conception to delivery With a strong technical background and long-form experience, I’m comfortable guiding projects all the way to broadcast, knowing when to build, refine, or hold back.
I work best with directors, producers, and commissioners who value collaboration, clarity, and thoughtful storytelling, especially when the material is complex or still finding its form.
