Biographie
Tasha Tacosa began her professional career remarkably early, becoming the youngest member ever cast in the Equity theater company "The Virginia Shakespeare Festival Guild" before the age of ten. With a foundation in classical, modern, and experimental theater, she has performed in over 80 stage plays and musicals, including the main stage launch of American Girl's toy line, Felicity: An American Girl.
Throughout her childhood, she balanced competitive gymnastics, swimming, and soccer alongside a series regular role as PJ on PBS's Minds on Science, produced by Don Jeffries (Sesame Street). This educational sitcom combined entertainment with science experiments for children, leading her to deliver award-winning public speaking engagements on "Positive Living," where she inspired others with the message, "You have a chance if you are willing to try"—all achieved while still a minor.
Despite dyslexia, Tasha wrote and produced two TV series for Showtime and won the LA Comedy Fest’s Best Webseries award for TRENT AND TILLY. Her first film as writer and star was selected by Elevate Films for production and screening at their festival.
Her comedic skills were honed through Second City Improv and by landing the female lead in a Latin Sketch Comedy pilot with the Latin Kings of Comedy, where she created and performed ten characters, each with distinct accents.
Her notable commercial work includes campaigns for Cleo-nominated Boys Town USA, Coca-Cola, Honda, Starbucks, Vita Water, and Subway.
Now an adult, Tasha is a favorite within the independent horror community and hosts "The Indie Hour," a radio show dedicated to indie filmmaking and supernatural horror scripts. She earned the BEST ACTRESS award from the Buffalo Scream Festival for her role in the indie film RAT SCRATCH FEVER.
