Biographie
Warren Douglas, born Warren Douglas Wandberg on July 29, 1911, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, had a brother named Robert Wandberg who passed away before him. He was married to Dorothy Kennedy from 1931 to 1957, with whom he had a daughter named Ann Douglas. Afterward, he married Eva Lavaughn ("Bonnie") Padgette in 1957, and they remained together until 1997. Warren Douglas died on November 15, 1997, in Jackson, California.
Warren and Dorothy began their acting careers on stage at the University of Minnesota before relocating to New York in the 1930s, touring with various plays during the Great Depression. Warren was under contract with Warner Brothers and later Republic Pictures, starring in films such as The Magnificent Rogue (1946), The Inner Circle (1946), Cuban Fireball (1951), Homicide for Three (1948), The Chinese Ring (1947), and God Is My Co-Pilot (1945). In the 1950s, he transitioned into screenwriting, penning scripts for feature films including Cry Vengeance (1954). In 1952, he wrote and associate produced the TV series The Files of Jeffrey Jones, which starred his longtime friend Don Haggerty. During the 1960s, he continued writing for popular western television series such as Bonanza (1959), Gunsmoke (1955), Sugarfoot (1957), Maverick, and Cheyenne (1955), as well as the feature film The Night of the Grizzly (1966), starring Clint Walker.
