Biographie
Jordana Ariel Spiro was born on April 12, 1977, in Manhattan, New York. Raised in Manhattan, she studied at the Circle in the Square Theatre School and briefly attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London. She divides her time between Los Angeles and New York. Alongside acting, Spiro has a strong interest in photography and has produced and directed several short films. In the fall of 2009, she enrolled in the MFA Filmmaking program at Columbia University.
Spiro began her acting career in the 1990s, appearing primarily in comedic TV shows and movies, including Maybe This Time (1995), Her Last Chance (1996), If These Walls Could Talk (1996), Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997), Silk Stalkings (1991), Beverly Hills, 90210 (1990), and City Guys (1997). She landed her first recurring roles on One World (1998) and Undressed (1999). Her first regular role was in the short-lived series The Huntress (2000), where she played the bounty hunter daughter of Annette O'Toole’s character. After The Huntress, she mostly made guest appearances on shows like Out of Practice (2005), CSI: NY (2004), Cold Case (2003), and had a recurring role as Lt. Catherine Graves on JAG (1995).
Her film credits include Must Love Dogs (2005), Partner(s) (2005), Alone with Her (2006), Living & Dying (2007), The Year of Getting to Know Us (2008), and Trespass (2011). She starred as P.J. in the TBS comedy My Boys (2006), portraying a woman navigating romance in a male-dominated friend group. The show ran for four seasons, ending in 2010. Spiro also appeared in Neal Brennan's The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard (2009) alongside Jeremy Piven, Ed Helms, and Rob Riggle. In 2011, she had a recurring role as Rachael Miller on Harry's Law and guest-starred on Dexter (2006). She played Detective Jenna Villette in a recurring capacity on The Good Wife (2009). Spiro was the lead in The Mob Doctor (2012), but the series was cancelled after 13 episodes. Beyond guest appearances on Tyrant (2014) and Royal Pains (2009), she has held a recurring role since 2015 as Sarah Weller on NBC's Blindspot (2015).
