Biographie
Rowan, a handsome medium-built man in his late thirties. He's a sensitive, fun-loving compassionate man with a sharp wit and a keen sense of humor. His chiseled jaw and piercing blue eyes give him the leading man edge. But his wackiness allows him to play more supporting roles, which makes him identifiable to the average man. He looks like a young Val Kilmer or Matt Damon, but acts like a blond Jim Carey. In one sentence, he is the handsome, intelligent, goofy guy!
After completing high school (2008), he took a leap of faith and traveled abroad to study at the New York Film Academy in NY and Shelley Mitchell’s Actors’ Center in San Francisco. The following year, he came home to further his studies and enrolled at ACT Cape Town Film Academy’s evening program, while simultaneously studying a BA degree in Drama, Film and Screenwriting at the University of Cape Town during the day. Thereafter, he completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Drama Education at UCT.
In 2017 he ventured abroad for the second time, this time to Canada, to study at Matthew Harrison’s Actors Foundry, where he reached a new level of authenticity in his acting and in his personal development. Professionally, Rowan has worked on several film and television productions, including, to name a few: ‘The Message’ (2013), ‘Black Sails’ (2014), ‘Dominion’ Season 2 (2015), ‘Modder en Bloed’ (2015), ‘Shussh’ (2015), ‘L’ Odyssée’ (2015), HBO's ‘Warrior’ Season 2 (2019), Apple TV's 'Invasion' Season 2 (2022) and number of productions for the Investigation Discovery channel: ‘Locked Up Abroad’ (2013), ‘American Monster’ Season 2 and 3 (2017/18), ‘Hear No Evil’ (2017) and ‘The Devil Speaks’ (2018), and a number of productions for the History channel: 'Grant’ (2018), 'FDR’ (2020), 'Lincoln' (2022), 'The Great War' (2023), and most recently, ‘Outlaws and Lawmen’ for HBO (2024).
