Biography
Fletcher Christian Finnegan (born April 1, 1973), known professionally as Christian Finnegan, is an American stand-up comedian, writer, and actor based in New York City.
Born in Albany, New York, Finnegan grew up in Acton, Massachusetts. He attended The Walnut Hill School in Natick, Massachusetts, a boarding and day school specializing in performing, visual, and creative arts.
Finnegan is widely recognized as one of the original panelists on VH1's Best Week Ever and for his role as Chad, the only white roommate in the “Mad Real World” sketch on Comedy Central's Chappelle's Show. He currently co-hosts "Black and White," a series on A&E that he created and executive produces. Additionally, he co-stars in the TBS series Are We There Yet? He has also co-hosted Zest TV’s web travel show “CustomNATION” and launched his music-focused podcast “Audio Spackle” on Cave Comedy Radio in January 2013.
A frequent presence on Comedy Central, Finnegan has starred in his own half-hour special Premium Blend, the hour-long stand-up special Au Contraire, Comedy Central Presents: Christian Finnegan, and numerous network interstitials. He wrote for Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn and appeared as a guest on the show. His stand-up was also featured in Comedy Central's animated series Shorties Watchin' Shorties.
His television appearances, either as himself or performing stand-up, include Conan, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Would You Rather...with Graham Norton, Good Afternoon America, multiple appearances on The Today Show and Countdown with Keith Olbermann, and History's I Love the 1880s. He hosted TV Land's game show Game Time. As an actor, Finnegan played the supporting role of Carl in the film Eden Court, a ticket agent in Knight and Day, and several guest roles, including a talk show host on The Good Wife.
Finnegan released his debut stand-up comedy CD, Two For Flinching, through Comedy Central Records in October 2006, followed by a national college tour from January to April 2007. His special Au Contraire! was released by Warner Bros. Records in 2009. His third special, The Fun Part, was recorded at the Wilbur Theatre in Boston on April 4, 2013, and premiered on Netflix on April 15, 2014.
On December 31, 2014, Finnegan appeared on Ken Reid's TV Guidance Counselor Podcast. On July 27, 2016, he and comedian Sherrod Small began co-hosting Black and White, a comedy and talk show on A&E that humorously explores race relations in America.
