Biography
Brendan Kyle Cochrane is a New York-based filmmaker, writer, and producer, and the founder of the production company Digital Seven. He was born in New York and raised in Cambridge, England, attending the High School of Music & Art in Manhattan before studying at the Maryland Institute College of Art. Cochrane began his career in film as a production assistant on A Bronx Tale, followed by work on Carlito's Way and the television series New York Undercover, and later served as a post-production assistant on Heat. He has since directed and produced content for major brands including Nike, NFL, Maybelline, Hertz, and Lincoln Motors, as well as music videos for artists such as 50 Cent, Ludacris, Teyana Taylor, and My Darkest Days, earning recognition for blending cinematic storytelling with commercial impact. In 2025, Cochrane completed the WGA Showrunner Training Program, further solidifying his experience in serialized storytelling and creative leadership. His film and television projects include the feature Equal Standard, the indie film 25 Seconds, and the upcoming series Ghost Cars, as well as the original pilot for The Grind, currently streaming on Amazon. Influenced by directors Michael Mann, Ridley Scott, Martin Scorsese, and Roman Gavras, Cochrane is known for combining gritty realism with dynamic visual storytelling. He holds dual U.S. and Irish citizenship, and is the older brother of actor Rory Cochrane. Outside of filmmaking, he is an avid yoga practitioner, skier, and traveler, having skied and snowboarded across the United States, Austria, and Switzerland.
