Biography
Thom Rivera is a classically trained actor specializing in television, film, theatre, and voice work. Currently based in Los Angeles, he spent 12 years living and working in New York City. He has toured nationally and performed at regional theatres across the United States.
He has collaborated with many leading theatre companies nationwide. In New York, his credits include Roundabout Theatre Company, Manhattan Theatre Club, Page 73 Productions, Culture Project, Working Theater, Ensemble Studio Theatre, and The Acting Company. Regionally, he has completed three seasons with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and worked with The Shakespeare Theatre Company of DC, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Colorado Shakespeare Festival, Yale Repertory, Berkshire Theatre Festival, Barrington Stage, Denver Center, South Coast Repertory, Mark Taper Forum, Dallas Theater Center, St. Louis Repertory, Cincinnati Playhouse, Kansas City Rep, Triad Stage, Bilingual Foundation of the Arts, and Shakespeare/LA.
His television appearances include New Girl, Lucifer, The Mindy Project, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Shameless, Rosewood, Zoo, Telenovela, Comedy Bang Bang, and Law & Order. Film credits feature Papi Chulo, Antidote, Once Upon a Time in Venice, Borderland, and Heels.
Thom has taught at Elizabeth Mestnik Studios, South Coast Repertory, LA Performing Arts Conservatory, UC Irvine, The Acting Company, The Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Will Power to Youth, and The New York Film Academy, in addition to offering private coaching.
Education: MFA from the University of California, Irvine; BA (cum laude) from Cal State Northridge.
