Biography

Marcia Dangerfield, the youngest of three siblings, was born and raised in Indiana. She graduated from Arlington High School in 1970. Her father's family originated from Shelby County, while her mother grew up in Indianapolis. In 1977, she relocated to Utah and soon became a working mother of three. Marcia played a key role in founding the Utah branch of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) in Salt Lake City. During this period, she developed a fruitful partnership with writer and producer Charles E. Sellier Jr., who gave her her first industry opportunity in 1979. She has also been credited as Marcia Reider and Marcia Yvette Reider. Leon Dudevoir served as her first mentor, and James L. Conway was her first director, although he disliked her walk.

After spending several years in Los Angeles working primarily behind the camera, Marcia moved back to Utah, where her film and theater performances gained new depth and recognition. Currently, she resides in Bloomington, Indiana, pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Communication and Culture at Indiana University, her alma mater. Two of her sons have served in Iraq and returned safely.

Since arriving in Bloomington in April 2001, her onstage performances in varied roles such as "Big Mama" and "Kate Keller" have earned high praise from NPR columnist George Walker and the local Herald Tribune. She remains active and well.
