Biography
Stephen Campanelli was the first to merge "A" Camera operation with steadicam work, opening up a fresh filmmaking perspective that quickly captured the attention of Hollywood’s top directors, including his childhood hero, Clint Eastwood. Stephen began collaborating with Clint on the Oscar-nominated BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY and has since become Clint's most trusted "camera eye," contributing to Oscar-winning films like MILLION DOLLAR BABY and MYSTIC RIVER, as well as Oscar-nominated works such as LETTERS FROM IWO JIMA, GRAN TORINO, AMERICAN SNIPER, THE MULE, and RICHARD JEWELL. Throughout his career, Stephen has earned several prestigious awards, including an SOC Lifetime Achievement Award, and has witnessed six Oscar-winning performances with Clint, plus THREE BILLBOARDS OUTSIDE EBBING, MISSOURI. Following in the footsteps of a master storyteller who shared his extensive knowledge, and with Clint Eastwood's endorsement and the respect of every cast and crew he's worked with, Stephen has naturally transitioned to directing. He has already directed four feature films: DRINKWATER, MOMENTUM, GRAND ISLE, and the #1 box office Canadian film INDIAN HORSE, which garnered over 18 international film festival awards. Stephen has also directed a Fox pilot, PARADISE INC., several national commercials, and recently completed How To Rob A Bank for Netflix, Earth Abides for MGM+/Amazon Prime, as well as second unit directing for Apple TV+'s FireBug. He is now poised to bring his next project to life.
