Biography
Neeraj Madhav (born 26 March 1990) is an Indian actor and dancer known for his work in Malayalam cinema.
He made his Malayalam film debut with Buddy (2013), directed by Raaj Prabavathy Menon. Neeraj gained recognition for his roles in Drishyam (2013), 1983 (2014), Sapthamashree Thaskaraha (2014), Oru Vadakkan Selfie (2015), Kunjiramayanam (2015), and Adi Kapyare Kootamani (2015).
Hailing from Thiruvannur, Calicut, Neeraj completed his schooling at St. Joseph's Boys' Higher Secondary School, Calicut. He graduated in Visual Communications from SRM University, Chennai, and later pursued post-graduation in Theatre at the School of Drama and Fine Arts, Thrissur. His father, Dr. K. Madhavan, is a veterinarian, and his mother, Latha, is a teacher.
Neeraj began his career as a dancer on the first season of the reality TV show Super Dancer on Amrita TV, reaching the final round. He is also a trained Bharatanatyam dancer under Kalamandalam Saraswathy and her daughter Aswathy. Additionally, he is skilled in playing the chenda, trained by Kalanilayam Udayan Namboodiri.
He has a younger brother, Navneeth, also a dancer turned actor, who has appeared in films like Shikkar, Nallavan, Manikyakkallu, and the TV series Kuttichathan.
Neeraj entered Malayalam cinema through Buddy after being selected via audition. Director Jeethu Joseph later cast him in the successful films Memories and Drishyam. He also appeared in Abrid Shine's 1983 and Sathyan Anthikad's Oru Indian Pranayakadha.
Other notable performances include Anil Radhakrishnan Menon's Sapthamashree Thaskaraha, where he played one of seven lead thieves alongside Prithviraj, Anoop Kannan's Homely Meals, and Madhav Ramadasan's medical drama Apothecary.
Neeraj made his official choreography debut with Oru Vadakkan Selfie, scripted by Vineeth Sreenivasan, notably choreographing the song "Enne Thallendammava." His 2015 releases also include Jamna Pyari, Kunjiramayanam, Madhura Naranga, KL.10 Pathu, Charlie, and Adi Kapyare Kootamani. He is set to appear in Oozham, directed by Jeethu Joseph and starring Prithviraj, expected to release during Onam in September.
