Biography
Razia Khanam is an actor, writer, director, and theatre instructor based in Mumbai with over eight years of experience in theatre and performance arts. Originally from Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, she has built a diverse career across stage, storytelling, and arts education.
Her artistic journey has been enriched through training with renowned national and international theatre practitioners, faculty members from the National School of Drama (NSD) and the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII). These experiences have shaped her multidisciplinary approach to performance, physical theatre, and actor training.
As a performer, Razia is fluent in Hindi, Urdu, and English. Alongside acting, she is a semi-classical dancer, folk singer, and writer, having created scripts and audio content for platforms such as Spotify and Kuku FM. Her work reflects a deep interest in meaningful storytelling, cultural narratives, and experimental theatre.
Razia is the founder and artistic force behind **Gillo Repertory Theatre**, where she develops theatre productions and conducts workshops for children, young performers, and aspiring actors. She is particularly passionate about creating innovative theatre experiences that encourage imagination, empathy, confidence, and creative expression.
