Biography
Tasos Ramsis was a Greek actor, director, and writer whose extensive career encompassed theatre, television, radio, and literature, showcasing a lifelong commitment to performance and storytelling. He studied acting in Italy under Petr Sharov, a disciple of Konstantin Stanislavski, an experience that influenced his methods in both acting and directing. Throughout his career, he established a strong presence in Greek theatre, taking part in numerous productions with various companies and directing a wide range of works, including classical plays, contemporary pieces, and productions in the Pontic dialect. Alongside his stage work, he appeared in television series such as Isidora (1973), To eglima tou Psyhikou (1981), and Kapnismenos ouranos (1985), and contributed to radio dramas and dubbing projects, lending his voice to popular series like Around the World with Willy Fog (1983) and Don Quijote de la Mancha (1979). Ramsis was also a prolific writer, producing original theatrical works, children's plays inspired by Aesop's fables, film scripts, television texts, poetry, short stories, and novels, frequently exploring themes of history, identity, and everyday life. His contributions to direction and authorship include titles like 'Mathimata kat' oikon' and 'O Thavmatopoios', while his overall artistic endeavors consistently sought to bridge popular and literary forms.
