Biography
Michelle Renee Arthur, originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, has a diverse heritage including English, Irish, Scottish, German, and Cherokee roots. Her passion for acting began at age six. In high school, she was a two-time MVP gymnast, a member of the flag and rifle corps Kadette, and served as editor of the school newspaper. Influenced by her uncle, a former LA Times columnist, she earned a Bachelor of Arts from Indiana University's School of Journalism. She further honed her craft studying at UCLA, Actors Edge Studios, Artist Theatre Group, and Playhouse West Studio 4.
Following an internship at Conde Nast’s Brides magazine through the American Society of Magazine Editors, Michelle built a broad media career in editorial, advertising, and modeling, contributing to publications such as The New Yorker, Cosmopolitan, V & VMan, Robb Report, and Angeleno—a magazine she helped launch for Modern Luxury. Through this work, she remained connected to the entertainment world.
Michelle appeared in TV shows like Beverly Hills 90210 and The Practice, and films including Path to War, The Amati Girls, and Tomcats. Her move to Los Angeles reignited her passion for acting.
In 2014, after working on magazine projects in New York City, she returned to LA and progressed from background artist to speaking roles, collaborating with some of the most renowned filmmakers of our era. Her lead and supporting roles span titles such as Actors Anonymous, Boomer Hogs, Crazy Lucky, Dark Hours: Roxana, Dark Hours: Typee, Deadly Sins, Love & Other Lies, Mem 39, Scorpion Girl, The Film Club, The French Teacher, The Gilded Boy, among others.
Michelle thrives both in front of the camera and behind the scenes. She completed her first script in 2015, registered it with the WGAW, and has participated in producing, directing, writing, and acting in numerous award-winning films.
