Biography
Shailendra Pandey is an award-winning Indian filmmaker, journalist, and photographer. He has earned numerous national and international accolades, including the prestigious Picture of the Year award at the 1st RNG India Press Awards in 2004, organized by The Indian Express.
Shailendra has had an extensive career in journalism, working with prominent media outlets such as Zee News, News Nation (OTT: NN+), Dainik Jagran, Amar Ujala, Tehelka, Rajasthan Patrika, and PTI . His work has also been featured in renowned international publications like The Guardian, The Age, People, Le Monde, and Courier International. In 2010, Le Monde selected him as one of the 12 picture editors representing leading magazines and newspapers globally.
In his transition to filmmaking, Shailendra directed his debut feature film, JD, which highlights the life and struggles of journalists in the print media. The film stars Govind Namdev, Amar Singh, Aman Verma, Vedita Pratap Singh, and Surya Mohan Kulshreshtha.
In addition to feature films, Shailendra has directed over 25 documentaries, including The Black Chapter of Ajmer, The Missing 54, The Dirty Business, Mukherjee Nagar: The IAS Factory, Red Market, The Undertrials, The Legal Battle, and The Investigation.
Shailendra is working with the OTT platform NN+, where he produces documentaries.
