Joe Rabl - CEO & Founder, Pelican Pictures
Driven by a passion for acting, Joe Rabl moved west to the United States to pursue his dream. He refined his skills at prestigious institutions such as Harry Mastrogeorge, Stella Adler in Los Angeles, and the Lee Strasberg Institute in New York. To support his education, he worked as a private chef for distinguished clients including James Newton Howard, David Geffen, Pete Sampras, William Robinson, and Mark Mack Architects. His television debut featured roles in The Visitor and Brooklyn South, followed by performances in notable short films like Ice Cream Sundae, starring Tippi Hedren (written and directed by Désirée Nosbusch, with music by Harald Kloser), and A.W.O.L., featuring David Morse and John McGinley (written by Shane Black). Joe made his feature film debut in Godzilla (TriStar Pictures, directed by Roland Emmerich and produced by Dean Devlin), then appeared in Breakdown alongside Kurt Russell (Paramount Pictures, produced by Dino De Laurentiis and directed by Jonathan Mostow). Upon returning to Europe, he continued acting in major Hollywood productions such as U-571 (Universal) and Spectre (Eon), as well as independent films like Snakebite and Schilf. In German-speaking regions, he has earned recognition through TV series, commercials, and print campaigns, partnering with brands and networks including 3Austria, EnBW, Sixt Germany, DEKRA, Bang & Olufsen, Mercure Hotels, Best Western, Siemens, Mercedes-Benz, Raiffeisen Bank Austria, Porsche, Württemberger Wine, Pro7, Sat1, Arte, ARD, and ORF.
