Biography
Aaron W. Bennett, a writer and producer from Washington State, formerly owned a comedy club before relocating to Los Angeles to focus on screenwriting, acting, comedy, and improv.
After gaining experience in nearly every on-set department, he leveraged his background in construction and mechanical/electrical skills to work in the Grip and Electric department. This path led him to invest in and help operate a 3-ton combo G&E truck with a talented team of friends and filmmakers. Their company, Valhalla Grip LLC, keeps him sharp and funds his writing projects.
Aaron has earned numerous writing contest placements, including Cinequest, Screencraft, TMFF, The Titan Awards, and the Los Angeles Screenplay Competition, for his screenplays and TV pilots. In just three and a half years in Los Angeles, he co-authored twelve projects. In 2020, he won Best Screenplay at TMFF for "Good Counsel," which completed its festival run in 2021.
His writing career began in the late '90s as a writer and actor on a local public access TV show, where he honed his sketch writing and comedic timing. Known for his mimicry and impressions, he entertained audiences through improv with his troupe Manic Thunder Improv and as a stand-up comedian. Fulfilling a childhood dream, he spent two years as a rock-jock comedy morning co-host on 94.5 KATS, his favorite rock station in Yakima, WA, where he voiced and improvised several characters.
Outside of writing, Aaron enjoys working on set with close friends, making films, and embracing this new lifestyle. Although the hours are long, the conditions tough, and the work demanding, the gummy snacks make it all worthwhile.
His latest venture into production offers a range of challenges that fuel his passion and drive. There’s truly no other career he’d prefer—even one that pays him to speak about himself in the third person.
