Biografía
Martin Kalwill has been performing in television, film, theater, and commercials for over fifteen years. Hailing from Argentina, his work has been showcased at the Festival De La Havana, the Berlin Film Festival, and Sundance, where he starred in "Un Crisantemo Estalla En Cinco Esquinas" as a soul-searching Hassidic Jew lost in Latin America. His international career began with his film debut in "Alambrado" (Fenced In), directed by renowned Italian filmmaker Marco Bechis. He continued working in Italy with Marcello Mastroianni's "De Eso No Se Habla" (I Don't Want To Talk About It). IndieWIRE critic Anthony Kaufman recognized another of Kalwill’s films, A Chrysanthemum Burst in Cincoesquinas, as a catalyst for the "New Argentine Cinema" movement.
In 2000, Kalwill relocated to Miami, where he appeared in numerous commercial spots across Spanish-language television, radio, and print media. His background in circus arts led him to teach performing arts on reality TV. Seeking a larger audience, he moved to New York City in 2007.
More recently, Kalwill has made cameo appearances and showcased juggling skills in various New York productions including Howl, Louis C.K., Morning Glory, Eat Pray Love, Salt, White Collar, An Englishman in New York, Oliver Stone's World Trade Center, Noah, among others.
In April 2014, Japanese magazine Warp named Kalwill one of its "Coolest New Yorkers." In June, DNAinfo.com featured a profile on him titled 'Circus Performer Juggles Met Opera Gig With Entertaining Park Crowds.
