Biografía
Robert Rothbard is an alumnus of Temple University's School of Radio, TV, Film, and Theater. Alongside writing screenplays and creating personal films, he has held roles as Location Manager, Assistant Director, and Production Manager on major motion pictures, collaborating with renowned directors such as Sergio Leone, Brian De Palma, Dennis Hopper, and George Stevens, Jr.
His directorial debut, "The Life and Times of Charlie Putz," was praised by film critic John Anderson of New York Newsday as "Wildly Ambitious, Hilariously Unhinged and Winner of the Audacity Achievement Award!" Video Business described the film as "A Capra-esque Sleeper Hit!"
His second feature, co-written and directed by Rothbard, was the award-winning romantic-mob comedy "Pizza with Bullets," featuring two-time Academy Award® nominee Talia Shire and SAG Award winner Vincent Pastore ("The Sopranos"). The film earned over twenty awards, including Best Screenplay and the Director's Citation for Best Picture at the Syracuse International Film Festival.
His most recent work, "The Painting - the art of slaying," is a horror-comedy that pays homage to the Grand Guignol style of filmmaking. It premiered at the 13th Annual Garden State Film Festival and won the Best Horror Film Award at the 2016 Independent Filmmakers Showcase Film Festival in Los Angeles.
Rothbard has Production Managed films such as Redline, The Skulls, Point Of Origin, Deuces Wild, The Rat Pack, Lansky, and Introducing Dorothy Dandridge; as well as television series including "The Office," "CSI: Miami," "Californication," "Barbershop," "Suburgatory," and "Sleeper Cell." He has also been involved with classic films like Glory, Once Upon a Time in America, Blow Out, and Dressed to Kill.
He resides in Los Angeles, California, with his family.
