Biografía
Melody Nosipho Niemann was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, to a Zulu mother and a German-born father. Named to reflect her parents' shared love of singing and choral music, Melody carries the rhythm and spirit of South Africa within her. Her mother, Jabulile Dladla, co-founded the internationally acclaimed Soweto Gospel Choir, a two-time Grammy Award winner, making Melody's natural talent for performance no surprise.
At just five years old, Melody signed with a talent agent and soon began booking commercials. She smoothly transitioned into television and film, where she discovered her deep passion for acting.
Melody’s debut role was in the feature film "Spontaneous," starring Katherine Langford. She then landed a supporting lead role in Hallmark’s "A Gingerbread Romance," acting alongside Tia Mowry-Hardrict and Duane Henry. Following this, she appeared in another supporting lead role in Hallmark’s "A Family Christmas Gift," sharing the screen with Patti LaBelle, Holly Robinson Peete, and Dion Johnstone. Melody made her big-screen debut in Paramount’s "Sonic The Hedgehog," featuring Jim Carrey, James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, and Natasha Rothwell. Her subsequent roles include appearances in "DC’s Legends of Tomorrow" (CW), "The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" (CW), "Just Add Romance" (Hallmark), and "Upside-Down Magic" (Disney). She also has a recurring voice role on the animated children’s series "Chip and Potato."
Committed to honing her craft, Melody trains with some of Vancouver's top industry professionals. When not acting, she performs live on stage or walks fashion runways. She enjoys spending time with family, playing soccer, swimming, tennis, hiking local mountains, and relaxing at her favorite beaches.
Over the years, Melody has received multiple nominations and awards recognizing her performances. She recently won a prestigious Joey Award for her role as Jojo in "Sonic The Hedgehog" and has earned additional honors at both the Joey Awards in Vancouver and the Young Entertainers Awards in Los Angeles.
