Biografía
Nancy Pop is a Romanian actress, model, and film director residing in New York.
Born in Transylvania, she spent her childhood between Pennsylvania and Arkansas before relocating to New York City to study at Marymount Manhattan College, where she earned a BA in Theatre Performance and Playwriting.
During her youth, Pop studied piano, violin, and viola, and competed on her high school’s forensics team, winning numerous awards in duet improvisation, poetry, prose, character monologues, and more. She was a semi-finalist in the Miss New York USA pageant, placing in the Top 21 out of over 150 contestants. Her work has appeared in both digital and print media, including Amika’s global “Bust Your Brass” campaign for Sephora.
In 2018, she directed the award-winning feature film *Poets Are The Destroyers*, starring Synead, now streaming on RevryTV. In 2021, she launched the "1221 Film Challenge," aiming to complete one short film each month. By year’s end, she had finished principal photography on 18 shorts and one feature film, several of which screened at festivals such as Dances With Films, Chelsea Film Festival, Soho International Film Festival, and Lighthouse Film Festival. Her award-winning shorts include *Sunscreen*, *Yes, Mother!*, and *New Boo*.
Her notable voiceover roles include the feisty Russian assassin Sarina Zubrov in the Tribeca 2022 Audio Selection *Burning Gotham*, and Nancy Sinatra Sr. in *And Then I Sing*, a dramatized retelling of Frank Sinatra’s life. Both radio dramas were directed by longtime collaborator James Scully.
