Biografía
Jason Allen, a writer and filmmaker from Nashville, TN, is also a wilderness guide, nature photographer, and award-winning journalist. His first produced screenplay was the 2009 feature film Lucky Fritz, starring Corey Feldman and Julia Dietze. Since then, he has earned Best Screenplay awards at the Nashville Film Festival, San Diego Film Awards, Mountain of Laughs Comedy Fest, TSA Screenwriting Awards, and Artlightenment Film Festival, and has been a seven-time finalist in the Nashville Film Festival Screenwriting Competition.
His credits include the acclaimed short films You Destroy Me, That Smell, American Sock, and The Seashell. American Sock won Best Short Film at eight film festivals, while That Smell was screened at over 80 festivals across 15 countries, including the SAG-AFTRA Short Film Showcase at New York's Robin Williams Center.
Recently, his films have received Best in Show at the Push Film Festival, Best Screenplay at Video Hackers-Italy, Audience Choice Award at the Flagler Film Festival, Best International Short at Mestre Film Fest in Venice, and Best Comedy at LaFF-VIN, an annual festival hosted by the Red Skelton Museum of American Comedy.
Beyond producing many screenplays, Allen has worked on various projects, including writing an untitled animated feature for Singapore’s Egg Story Creative Productions. As a journalist, he has won three Associated Press Managing Editors Awards for feature writing. His writing and photography have been featured in numerous books, magazines, and newspapers.
