Biografía
Carey Hart was born on July 17, 1975, in Seal Beach, California, and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Hart is one of the most prominent figures in freestyle Motocross. His father bought him his first motocross bike at the age of four, hoping to spend quality time together. What began as a father-son activity quickly became Carey's passion. By the time he competed in his first local amateur race, he was hooked, and by the time he graduated high school, he had turned professional, racing on the AMA Supercross circuit.
Shortly after, Carey grew tired of Supercross and joined a group interested in a more creative and expressive style of Motocross. In 1998, the freestyle motocross movement emerged with Carey at the forefront. From the sport’s beginning, he has been one of its most innovative riders.
He created the 'Hart Attack' trick, and at the 2000 Gravity Games, Carey made history as the first rider to successfully land a backflip on a 250cc motorcycle.
Hart also stars in the film "Good Times with Carey Hart," directed by Jonny Vegas. The movie chronicles Hart's remarkable career, his groundbreaking backflip, and how he helped elevate the sport to new heights.
Carey has traveled worldwide to promote freestyle Motocross. Along the way, he performed a jump over a trailer park in Kid Rock's "Bawitdaba" video, fulfilled his dream of playing bass with Pennywise during the 2000 Australian Warped Tour, and appeared in P!nk's "Just Like A Pill" and "So What" music videos. His popularity has significantly boosted the visibility of Motocross.
He has been featured in national ad campaigns for Ford, Dunkin' Donuts, Fox, DVS, and Mountain Dew, as well as in print magazines such as Paper, Teen People, EXPN The Magazine, Rolling Stone, Prick, and Skinnie. He has also graced the covers of numerous Motocross and tattoo magazines.
Carey has appeared on MTV's Inked and Life of Ryan, and on The Late Show with David Letterman, which helped propel both him and freestyle Motocross to new levels of fame. His stunt garnered worldwide attention and was even featured on Ripley's Believe It or Not. He appeared in ESPN/Touchstone Pictures' IMAX film Ultimate X and had cameo roles in Columbia Pictures' XXX and Touchstone Pictures' Charlie's Angels II. Additionally, he was cast in VH1's reality show The Surreal Life.
In 2004, Hart’s passion for tattoos evolved into a business. Partnering with entrepreneur John Huntington, they launched Hart & Huntington Tattoo Company at the Palms Casino in Las Vegas. This venture led to another TV opportunity when A&E created the reality show Inked, following Hart and the tattoo shop.
Since then, Hart has taken full ownership of the company, as shown on Inked. The brand has expanded with three additional shops in Honolulu, Cabo San Lucas, and Orlando’s Universal CityWalk. Carey also developed a clothing line inspired by the artwork produced by the tattoo artists at Hart & Huntington.
Despite his business commitments, Carey continues to dedicate time to his first love, supermoto, racing with the Hart & Huntington Tattoo/Rockstar Supermoto Team. His dedication and passion are undeniable. Despite suffering numerous injuries and breaking over 63 bones pursuing new tricks, Carey consistently bounces back, driven by his commitment to progression.
