Biografía
Anjelica Rose Scannura, born in Toronto, Ontario, is of Maltese and Irish descent. With striking green eyes, she started dancing at age four and has trained in various styles including ballet, Irish dance, flamenco, and bellydance. Her dedication and skill have earned her recognition as an award-winning choreographer. Anjelica has performed solo and with her family’s dance company, Ritmo Flamenco, in countries such as Spain, Malta, Ireland, Jordan, the United States, Mexico, and the Caribbean. She has won international dance titles like Bellydancer of the Universe, debuted work at the Madrid Choreographic Competition, and performed with the Canadian Opera Company.
A graduate of Etobicoke School of the Arts, Anjelica gained early experience in acting through stage productions and plays. She landed her first commercials at 17 (Swiss Chalet and Scotiabank) and has since pursued rigorous acting training with prominent coaches including Lewis Baumander, Bruce Clayton, Matthew Harrison, Shawn Lawrence, Catherine McNally, and Al Bernstein. Passionate about comedy and improvisation, she currently performs stand-up comedy at various clubs in Toronto and nearby areas.
Anjelica’s screen credits span film, television, and music videos across diverse genres. She appeared opposite Joe Jonas in Disney’s "Camp Rock," featured on Family Channel’s "Overruled," and served as assistant choreographer for "How to Be Indie." She held a supporting role in the TIFF film "Manson, My Name is Evil," directed by Canadian Reginald Harkema, alongside Sarah Gadon. In 2015, she starred in the CBC movie "Flamenco," which had previously won the So You Think You Can Pitch award at the ReelAsian Film Festival. More recently, she appeared on CTV’s "Satisfaction," CBC’s "Exhibitionists," and The Movie Network’s "Rogue" with Cole Hauser.
