Biografía
Diego Lerman was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is a film director, screenwriter, and producer. He graduated in Design of Image and Sound from the University of Buenos Aires and studied Dramaturgy at the Municipal School of Dramatic Arts. In 2002, he was selected for a residency at the Cannes Festival. To date, he has directed six feature films, serving as the writer for all of them. His films have been recognized at major international film festivals and have been commercially screened in Latin America, Europe, the United States, and Japan. In 2009, he co-founded the production company Campo Cine with Nicolás Avruj. Campo Cine has produced numerous feature films, shorts, documentaries, and television series. In 2014, he was President of the Jury for the Venice Days section at the Venice Film Festival. He has also served as a jury member at the Locarno, Havana, San Sebastián, and Chicago Film Festivals. He received the Golden Leopard Award at the Locarno Film Festival. Throughout his career, he has won several awards worldwide, including Best Script at San Sebastián, the Silver Leopard at Locarno, and Best Film awards at Havana, Chicago, Miami, Buenos Aires, and Istanbul, as well as multiple Argentine Critics and Industry Film Awards. He was the creator and showrunner of the acclaimed Argentine series "La casa" (Netflix). Additionally, he has written and directed theatre plays in Buenos Aires that received critical and audience acclaim.
