Peter T. Lamberti is a prominent figure in wildlife filmmaking, leading the renowned Lion Mountain Media and Aquavision TV Productions. With over 30 years of experience, he has distinguished himself as a skilled cameraman, producer, and director of photography, dedicated to capturing the splendor and fascination of the natural world.
Growing up in Amanzimtoti, Peter's early interest in wildlife laid the groundwork for his successful career. His deep curiosity drove him to document the Annual Sardine Run, resulting in Aquavision’s pioneering documentary "The Greatest Shoal on Earth," which set a new benchmark in wildlife filmmaking.
Peter’s passion for photography developed during his time in the South African Special Forces. Equipped with his first video camera, he began recording Africa’s diverse wildlife, paving the way for his future projects.
In 1990, Peter established Aquavision TV Productions with the aim of showcasing remarkable animal behaviors both underwater and across the African wilderness. Under his guidance, Aquavision grew into South Africa’s largest wildlife filmmaking and post-production company, leading the industry in innovation.
A pioneer in adopting advanced filming technologies, Peter guided Aquavision to become the first African company to work with High-Definition filming. Embracing 3D and UltraHD formats, he pushed the limits of visual storytelling, solidifying Lion Mountain Media’s role as a leader in the field.
Over his distinguished career, Peter has produced and filmed more than 90 documentaries, reflecting his steadfast commitment to quality. His work, including "Africa's Deadly Kingdoms" for National Geographic and "Battleground Rhino Wars" for Animal Planet, has captivated global audiences and earned industry acclaim.
Peter’s commitment to wildlife conservation and education shines through every project. Productions like "Shark Alley" and "Dolphin Army" for National Geographic act as impactful platforms to raise awareness and deepen appreciation for the natural environment.
