Biografía
Matthew Helderman is the CEO and co-founder of BondIt Media Capital and Buffalo 8. He established Buffalo 8 in 2010 while studying as an undergraduate at Lake Forest College. Since then, Buffalo 8 has premiered projects at Sundance, SXSW, and Berlin, including producing the Netflix original film "Rodney King," directed by Spike Lee, and the global Netflix hit "Conversations With a Killer: Jeffrey Dahmer," directed by Emmy winner Joe Berlinger.
In 2013, Helderman co-founded BondIt Media Capital, leading the deployment of over $250 million in capital across more than 400 film, television, and media projects. He also raised $30 million in equity and debt for a partial sale to publicly traded Accord Financial (TSX: ACD) and expanded the company's credit facility to $75 million in 2020 in partnership with Texas-based hedge fund Revere Capital.
BondIt’s portfolio includes Oscar-nominated "Loving Vincent," Roland Emmerich’s war epic "Midway," the Indie Spirit Award-winning "The Peanut Butter Falcon," and projects featuring stars such as Robert De Niro, Bruce Willis, John Travolta, Uma Thurman, Nicolas Cage, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Liam Neeson, Mel Gibson, Kevin James, Morgan Freeman, Jason Sudeikis, Kevin Smith, and Samuel L. Jackson, collectively generating over $500 million in worldwide box office revenue.
In 2017, Helderman co-managed the acquisition of ABS Payroll, a 30-year-old entertainment payroll company, where he currently serves as Executive Director, Partner, and Board Member. He oversaw the sale of ABS Payroll to Vensure Employer Services, the largest PEO provider in the United States.
Helderman holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Lake Forest College, has been a featured TED speaker, profiled in The New York Times, and is a member of YPO.
