Biografía
Born Wiqar Ali Khan to Pathan parents from the Swat Valley near the Himalayan Mountains in Pakistan's NorthWest Frontier, his family relocated to England in 1960. Wiqar was raised and educated in London.
In 2015, Wiqar served as Coca-Cola's Brand Ambassador for Asia. In September 2014, he co-hosted the unveiling of the Audi A8 Matrix alongside Hugh Jackman (Wolverine) and Oscar-winner Charlize Theron (Monster), representing Audi. He became the first male host of the Veet Miss Supermodel 2014 reality TV show, which aired simultaneously on 15 TV channels, reaching tens of millions of viewers. Previously, Wiqar shared the stage with David Beckham as the international Brand Ambassador for Motorola from 2006 to 2010. His career began after being crowned the first Asian Male Supermodel at Wembley, London, in 1996, and as the face of Calvin Klein in 1997 alongside Hollywood star Mark Wahlberg. He has appeared on numerous magazine covers both as a brand and solo personality. In March 2015, he made his feature film debut as the lead actor in "Jalaibee," a Guy Ritchie / Tarantino-inspired caper movie, released across cinemas in the UK, Europe, Middle East, USA, Asia, Canada, and Australia.
Wiqar is best known for his tenure at MTV Networks as Vice President, where he launched MTV Pakistan during MTV’s 25th anniversary. He led the Creative and Content departments, conceptualizing, producing, and directing 21 TV shows. At the launch, MTV Chairman and President Bill Roedy stated that "MTV Pakistan would be no.1" under Wiqar’s leadership, introducing new artists and boosting the Pakistani music scene. His efforts have been credited with revolutionizing the style, quality, and communication methods aimed at young audiences, making Pakistan culturally influential.
With over 15 years of international media experience, Wiqar Ali Khan is widely recognized for his role as MTV’s Vice President. He spearheaded, launched, and managed a multimillion-dollar multimedia portfolio that included Satellite TV Channels, Radio, Magazines, Web portals, Gaming, and a Record Label. His portfolio encompassed MTV, Fashion TV, BBC Asian Network, ZEE TV, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, ARY Digital, Wateen Multimedia, and Radio 1 FM91, among others. In 2010, Wiqar founded WAK Media, a TV and feature film production company based in Mayfair, London.
