Biografía
Ben Parrillo is an actor, writer, and filmmaker residing in the vibrant artist community of Venice Beach, California.
Hailing from Boston, Ben started his acting journey at Wesleyan University, where he studied Theater alongside History, Italian, and Cinema.
After spending some time living in Europe post-graduation, Ben moved to Los Angeles and established a career in television, film, and commercial acting. His recent TV credits include Criminal Minds, Vegas, Law & Order, CSI: NY, and the ABC pilot Delerium. On the big screen, Ben starred in the 2012 AFI International Film Festival short film Coming Home, playing an astronaut grappling with the monotony of life on Earth after an exhilarating space mission. Also in 2012, Oscar-winning director Kathryn Bigelow cast him as the pilot of the stealth helicopter in the Academy Award-nominated film Zero Dark Thirty, which depicted the mission of Seal Team Six to eliminate Osama bin Laden.
Beyond acting, Ben is a skilled writer, director, and filmmaker. His short films Jolly Good Fellow and A Moron, A Loser and A Coffee Shop were official selections at both the Cardiff Film Festival in Wales and The Other Venice Film Festival in California.
Ben’s writing covers diverse themes. His feature script Power Of The Drum explores the strength of human will to overcome seemingly insurmountable challenges. Crime Of Punishment delves into the societal impact of the death penalty and the resilient prison industry. Inside, a one-hour drama, confronts the growing medical fraud crisis intertwined with the Chicago mob and dormant Al Qaeda sleeper cells.
In Bed Of Nails, Ben presents an epic exploration of national identity through the white-collar ambitions of a Boston building contractor. The story follows a hardworking American family striving to overcome the obstacles blocking their pursuit of the elusive American Dream.
