Biografía
Sherri Howard was born in Sherman, Texas, to Eugene and Barbara Howard and spent her early years in Alaska. There, she earned her first gold medal in the 200-meter run at the Arco Jesse Owens Games. After her father was transferred to Norton Air Force Base in California, she continued to shatter records and became the top athlete in the nation in the 400-meter run while still in high school. Thanks to her father's exceptional coaching, Sherri and her sisters became known as "The Howard Sisters – the First Family of Track." Together, they set seven national records within three weeks, an unprecedented achievement for any high school track team, male or female. Throughout her track career, she received numerous awards and honors. Beyond her Olympic gold and silver medals, she won two NCAA Division I Track and Field Championship titles in the 400 meters and was named Athlete of the Year. Remarkably, she also holds a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from California State University.
Alongside her athletic pursuits, Sherri developed a passion for acting, securing roles in several primetime shows including The X-Files (1993), Diagnosis Murder (1993), Martial Law (1998), Profiler (1996), and Beverly Hills, 90210 (1990). In Universal’s blockbuster The Scorpion King (2002), starring Dwayne Johnson and Michael Clarke Duncan, she blended her athleticism and acting skills in the dynamic role of Warrior Queen Isis. She has guest-starred on multiple fitness programs such as Body by Jake (1988), Strength and Fitness Profile, and Beach Clash. Additionally, she has appeared in numerous commercials and modeled for magazines like Muscle and Fitness, Life, and Shape. Her commentary talents have been featured during the PAC 10 Championships, the World University Games on ESPN, the Special Olympics, the ARCO Jesse Owens Games, and several other televised events.
Sherri is a versatile actress, model, and athlete who skillfully combines her physical talents and abilities across action films, dramas, mysteries, and comedies on both the big and small screens.
