Biografía
Chris grew up in Kansas and initially worked as a professional editor before discovering a passion for acting within the local indie film community. He is recognized for his roles alongside Vince Gilligan and Aaron Paul in "El Camino: A Breaking Story"; Paul Greengrass and Tom Hanks in "News of the World"; Vincent D'Onofrio, Dane DeHaan, and Ethan Hawke in "The Kid"; and for portraying Pastor Garret Moore in the series finale of the Emmy-winning Netflix original "Godless," directed by Merritt Wever, Scott Frank, and Steven Soderbergh.
His father relocated from the West Coast to the Midwest and successfully ran his own business for over fifty years. His mother earned a degree in education and raised their family over three decades. His paternal grandparents immigrated from Holland to the United States, while his maternal grandparents lived in various small towns across the Midwest.
Chris landed a role in the very first film he auditioned for and, while working on indie sets, focused on deeply studying the craft and understanding every crew position. Within five years, he appeared in over one hundred films, television shows, webisodes, and commercials nationwide, with more than twenty projects receiving awards, including Regional Emmys, and he earned four individual Best Acting awards. Expanding his skills behind the camera, he worked as a director, producer, editor, and casting collaborator, winning seven directing awards and earning the 2014 Emerging Filmmaker Award from the Kansas City Film Fest.
This progression inspired new ambitions and a desire to enter the episodic storytelling arena. In the following years, he joined SAG-AFTRA and expanded into major feature films, including D'Onofrio’s directorial debut "The Kid," the Breaking Bad universe in "El Camino" as Sean Liebold, "News of the World," and a supporting lead role as D.A. Sam Taylor in "End of the Rope," among others.
He also made significant strides in television, appearing in Showtime’s "Waco: The Aftermath" (Dowdle Brothers), CW’s "Roswell, New Mexico," Little Marvin and Lena Waithe’s "Them" (Amazon Prime), CBS’s "Interrogation" with Ernest R. Dickerson and Kyle Gallner, the Emmy-winning Netflix series "Godless" by Scott Frank and Steven Soderbergh (with Merritt Wever), Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment-produced TNT pilot "Monsters of God" (alongside Lauren Ambrose and Brian Geraghty), NBC’s "The Night Shift" (with Ken Leung), Robert Rodriguez’s "From Dusk Till Dawn," EPIX’s "Graves" (with Chris Lowell), and more.
Throughout his 16-year acting career, Chris has been driven by a passion for portraying characters with authenticity and empathy, matched only by his strong work ethic and dedication to the collaborative art of filmmaking.
