Biografía
Valiant was born and raised in a Midwest farming community in Wisconsin, originally owned and named after pioneer and state legislator Sebastian Kronenwetter, to a family of prominent farmers and landowners. From a young age, he exhibited a strong passion for the arts, particularly music and theater.
His boldest endeavor to date was serving as a Steampunk Aviator male model on the runway for fashion designer and producer Leonard Simpson's "10 Best Dressed Awards and Fashion Show" and Dress for Success Charity in 2014, held at the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines in La Jolla, CA. Between 2015 and 2017, Valiant modeled Michael Kors men's designer suits and tuxedos at Los Angeles Fashion Shows. He also modeled for Ray-Ban sunglasses and various 19th-century costume companies.
For over thirty years, Valiant has participated in diverse acting roles spanning theater, reenactments, TV series, and films. His performances include Civil War reenactments as a North Union Regiment Captain, Revolutionary War reenactments as an American militia fighter, Renaissance Festival swordsmanship, Shakespeare in the Park as Prince Escalus of Verona, Pirate Faire appearances as a pirate, corporate role-playing games like The Go Game as a mobster or pirate, and various Steampunk characters.
At age 12, while attending private grade school during the day, Valiant earned university credits in theater (acting, mask creation/design, and voice training) and world literature during evening classes over two semesters. These credits later counted toward his BA degree in English Education and Theater within seven years. He also performed in the UWMC Upstage Theater production of "The Caucasian Chalk Circle" in November 1986.
Valiant graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in English Education from MSC in 1996. He taught university-level English literature under the guidance of MSC Dean and English Professor Dr. Vincent Beach, Ph.D., with graduate professorship recommendations from Education Chair Dr. John Eitenmiller, Ph.D., English Professor Dr. Bruce Glassco, Ph.D., MSC College President Dr. John Cable, Ph.D., and MSC Dean of Academics and English Professor Dr. Victor Macaruso, Ph.D. During his college years, he continued acting, portraying Prince Escalus of Verona in "Shakespeare in the Park."
He pursued graduate studies for an M.A. in English Education at Bemidji State University but left after one year, citing the curriculum as monotonous and repetitive. Later, he completed a Ph.D. through an independent scholar program at the University of Minnesota in 2002.
After relocating to California in 2005, Valiant engaged with various technology companies, including O'Reilly Media, their Etech Conferences, and DataForce by TransPerfect. He contributed data and served as an instructor and professor of technology at conferences. For over a decade, he has authored numerous published technology articles. Additionally, he has made early investments in real estate, technology, and cryptocurrency.
Valiant remains creatively active, performing in stage plays, writing novels and screenplays, singing (baritone or bass-baritone) with his contemporary band, and writing song lyrics and composing music both for himself and other artists.
