Jesse Marcus Spencer (born September 4, 1970, in Pomona, California), better known as Mr. Marcus, is an American pornographic actor, film director, writer, and owner of Daddy Inc.
Mr. Marcus began his career in adult entertainment in 1994, becoming one of the pioneering African American porn stars. He has appeared in over 1,500 films, including titles such as Nasty Nympho's 6 (1994), Rocky XXX: A Parody Thriller (2011), and Dirty Little Sex Dolls (2014). Additionally, he has directed more than 30 projects, including Mr. Marcus' Neighborhood Volumes 1-7 (1997-1999), Ms. Good Pussy Volumes 1 & 2 (2007), and Black On White (2013). Mr. Marcus also hosted Playboy TV's The Nooner Show, a weekday lunchtime program combining educational content with live sex segments, until it was rebranded as The Spice Hotel.
Throughout his career, Mr. Marcus has earned 28 AVN Award nominations, winning 9, and received 5 XRCO Award nominations, winning 3. He was inducted into the XRCO Hall of Fame in 2007 and the AVN Hall of Fame in 2009. His achievements have helped open doors for other African American performers in the mainstream adult entertainment industry, a legacy he shares with fellow pioneers like Lexington Steele and Janet Jack Me.
Outside the adult film industry, Mr. Marcus has appeared on television shows such as Oh! Drama (2002) and The Monique Show (2009).
In 2010, he published The Pornstar Guide to Great Sex, a book sharing his insights into human sexuality based on his personal experiences. The book received positive reviews, and following its release, Mr. Marcus began lecturing at universities and participating in panel discussions. As of 2015, he has been working on a second book aimed at further establishing his expertise beyond his porn star status.
