Biografía
Angelo Maresca was born in Castelfidardo, Italy, as the eldest son of Aurturo Maresca, the last Duke of a 10th-generation aristocratic family. He has one sister living in San Francisco and two half-brothers in Italy.
After attending boarding school, Angelo served as an airplane gunner in the Air Force. Following his military service, he earned degrees in Law and Philosophy from the University of Milan.
Choosing to forgo the wealth and expectations of his aristocratic lineage, Angelo pursued his passion for the arts. He studied at the Accademia d'Arte Drammatica di Roma and the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco. He refined his English skills with Robert Easton and is fluent in Spanish and Italian.
Angelo’s diverse interests have taken him around the world, enriching his performances on film with authentic experience. His athletic pursuits include competing in the 1996 America’s Cup sailing race for Italy, as well as horse riding, tennis, soccer, boxing, motorcycle racing, dancing, fencing, and skiing.
He began his acting career in theater, gaining recognition in Italy for leading roles in productions such as Henry IV, A View from the Bridge, A Rose Tattoo, Hopscotch, Un Dio Balbuziente, and In Viaggio con Civetta.
Angelo co-founded Officina Dell'Arte e Dello Spettacolo, a theatrical production company in Rome, with Anna Maria Cuzzolaro. The company continues to present some of Italy’s finest stage productions.
As a published novelist, Angelo authored L'Avogador e I Delitti della Vera da Pozzo, which earned him the Todi Writers Award for Best Thriller of the Year.
Transitioning from actor to director and producer, he made his directorial debut with the acclaimed film Clochard, winning awards in New York, Paris, Spain, Venice, and Bulgaria. His producing credits include Clochard and I Terrazzi. He plans to launch his American film company in 2006.
Angelo currently divides his time between Los Angeles, California, and Rome, Italy.
